The Real Challenge Facing Our Customers
"Your VFD is very stable. I don't want to replace it."
This is something we hear often. Across the UAE, many customers using our VFDs value the stability of their equipment highly and are reluctant to risk a full replacement just to gain new features.
But the new need is real: when PV power is insufficient, customers want the grid to top up the supply and keep the equipment running without interruption. Customers have also candidly told us that most VFDs currently available on the Chinese market struggle to pass the test of "PV power runs short, the grid tops it up."
Why is this so difficult? The answer lies in the essence of the problem.

The Essence of the Problem: Backfeed Prevention
Powering a VFD from both PV and the grid sounds simple, but it hides a critical risk — backfeed (reverse current).
When PV power is insufficient to support the load and the grid steps in, grid current can flow backwards into the PV array, stressing the PV panels and causing instability on the DC side, which can lead to abnormal operation.
Many approaches rely on "modifying the firmware" to prevent backfeed. But software-level control often responds slowly and leaves the DC side unstable — it struggles to truly withstand grid backfeed. This is precisely why most VFDs on the market fail the test.
-
Our Solution: Diode-Based Physical Backfeed Prevention
Our upgrade approach is simple and reliable: install a diode in the PV DC input circuit to achieve physical-level backfeed prevention.
A diode conducts in one direction and blocks in reverse: it allows PV current to flow into the VFD's DC bus; when the grid engages and the bus voltage rises, the diode automatically blocks in reverse, firmly keeping grid current away from the PV array.
- It is hardware-based physical blocking, not software emulation — instant response, no communication delay;
- It does not rely on firmware changes or additional communication links, keeping the DC side more stable;
- It does not modify the VFD main unit, preserving the stability you trust.
In short: solar first; when solar runs short, the grid tops it up; no backfeed.
-
Why This Solution Is Worth Choosing
- Stability: keep your existing VFD — no risky replacement;
- Low cost: minimal changes, simple components, controlled investment;
- On-site upgrade: no need to start over; the retrofit can be carried out on existing installed units;
- Tailored to local needs: fits the real-world self-consumption of solar power in the UAE, making solar a true primary power source.

Applicable Scenarios
- Industrial/commercial loads powered primarily by PV, with the grid as backup;
- Existing users with high requirements for VFD stability who do not wish to replace the main drive;
- Sites where PV output fluctuates noticeably with weather and needs the grid as a safety net.
